The Da Nang Land Development Center has announced plans to lease two plots, A2.4 and A2.5, located along the approach to Dragon Bridge. The 3,811-square-meter site in An Hai Nam Ward, Son Tra District, will be used to establish the new Son Tra Night Market.

The lease term is set for 36 months, with a starting rental price of over 260,000 VND ($10.40) per square meter per year.

Investors must demonstrate financial capability and experience in managing night markets. They are also required to commit to using the land for its designated purpose and ensuring the relocation of 190 existing vendors. A 10% deposit of the total lease value is mandatory. Additionally, investors must develop the market according to the approved master plan.

The application period for leasing the land runs from March 18 to April 16.

In July 2024, the Son Tra District People’s Committee proposed a plan for the new Son Tra Night Market. The market will be developed on the designated plots, located close to the current Son Tra Night Market, key tourist attractions, and cultural event venues - making it a convenient stop for visitors.

The night market will be managed by a single investor, selected through a bidding process for land-use rights.

The proposed market will accommodate approximately 250 stalls across 1,500 square meters, accounting for 39.35% of the total leased land. The remaining space will be allocated for walkways, storage areas, and supporting facilities.

Son Tra Night Market will feature a diverse range of products, including local cuisine, handicrafts, souvenirs, fashion, and other regional specialties. Operating hours will be from 5:30 PM to midnight daily.

The current Son Tra Night Market, located on Mai Hac De and Ly Nam De streets (about 200 meters from the new site), has been in operation since September 2018. Initially launched as a pilot project, the market has become a popular nightlife and tourism attraction.

In March 2024, the Son Tra District People’s Committee announced that the existing night market would cease operations on July 1, 2024, following the conclusion of its first trial phase. However, the market has been granted multiple extensions while awaiting the transition to the new location.
