The 2017 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) kicked off in the central city on April 30, drawing eight teams from Italy, Austria, China, Japan, the UK, Australia, Switzerland and Vietnam.

Themed “Shining with Mable Mountains”, this year’s event will last until June 26 with five main programmes named Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood organised on five Saturdays (April 30, May 20, May 27, June 3 and June 24).
The highlight of the “Fire” opening night was the two firework displays of host Da Nang and Fireevent Die Feuerwerker from Austria.
Spectators were also offered a chance to witness traditional and modern art performances being meticulously arranged and performed by famed artists namely eminent artist Cao Minh, choreographers people’s artist Bach Hac, Mai Trung and Dieu Hy, and M4U music band, and hundreds of artists from theatres and art troupes throughout the country.
Austria brought the horn-blowing and flag dance performances to the “Fire” night as well.
Within the framework of the DIFF 2017, a number of festivals will be concurrently held such as a street festival with nine uniquely designed floats, a cuisine space with over 500 dishes bearing each country’s specific traits as well as other enticing and jubilant events.
Da Nang expects to welcome around 2 million tourists during the two-month event.
