VietNamNet Bridge - After the Government Inspectorate announced the conclusion on inspection of land violations in Da Nang, which caused losses of more than VND3,400 billion ($160 million), the city leaders have confirmed to explain in writing to the Politburo.
Land-related violations in Da Nang not to be re-inspected

On the afternoon of March 5, the delegation of the Government Inspectorate, led by deputy chief inspector Nguyen Duc Hanh -- worked with the People's Committee of Da Nang for 3 hours on the conclusion of the inspection of land-related violations in the city. The meeting was attended by members of the inspection team and the city officials. Dozens of reporters had to stand outside the meeting room.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, deputy chief inspector Nguyen Duc Hanh said the meeting’s content is announcing the conclusion of the inspection. Explaining why correspondents were not allowed to attend the meeting, Hanh said this is a public meeting, arranged by the Da Nang government.
According to VnExpress, in the meeting, after hearing the conclusions of the Government Inspectorate, Da Nang officials responded with the similar content that was reported by the media previously. Mr. Vo Duy Khuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, said the Government Inspector's conclusions did not change anything.
Khuong said Da Nang would explain in writing but he did not say when it would complete the explanation. Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Tho, Da Nang’s Vice Party Secretary also said that the city would have to explain in details to the Politburo.
On January 17, the Government Inspectorate published the inspection conclusions about the irregularities in the management of land in Da Nang, with losses of up to VND3.4 trillion. The Government Inspectorate asked the Prime Minister to consider the responsibility of the city’s Chair, Vice Chairs and related organizations and individuals in the period from 2003 to 2011.
On January 18, Mr. Van Huu Chien, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee signed a response document, showing disagreement with the conclusions of the Government Inspectorate.
At the government’s monthly press conference on January 29, the Head of the Government Office - Vu Duc Dam, said that the Government Inspectorate’s inspection in Da Nang as prescribed by law and the agency would not perform re-inspection.
