In September 2012, Sanh sold his house to pay part of the debts for his daughter and to buy a house for her. In early March 2913, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc, an official of Hoa Thuan Tay Ward who is the creditor of Le, offered to buy the house for VND1.6 billion ($80,000) and promised to pay by cash so Le would have money to pay debts. However, when administrative formalities were completed, Cuc did not pay for Le but took the house for the debt.
Le did not deliver the house so she was terrorized by strange men. Le then took her children, a 12th grader and a 9th grader away from home. Le’s parents could not contact to her.
Le Anh said in this case, two other officials of Hoa An Tay Ward were also suspended - Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao. The case has been transferred to the Hai Chau District police for investigation.
