At a press briefing on the morning of April 23, Colonel Vo Duy Tuan, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, said that through ongoing professional operations aimed at combating crime - particularly drug-related offenses - authorities had uncovered and handled a case involving an exceptionally large volume of illegal substances.

Law enforcement officials confiscated 19kg of drugs, one firearm, and several tools and means associated with the operation. The narcotics were determined to have originated from Laos.
Police have also placed two suspects in temporary detention as part of efforts to expand the investigation, trace additional connections, and handle the case in accordance with the law.
According to Dak Lak authorities, this is the largest drug case ever uncovered in the province since the implementation of the two-tier model of local government and police organization.
In recognition of the achievement, the Dak Lak People’s Committee held a commendation ceremony for the task force behind the operation.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Dao My awarded an immediate bonus of VND200 million (US$8,000) to the units involved. A letter of commendation from the provincial chairman was also presented to the relevant departments of the provincial police and the People’s Procuracy.
Dao My praised the efforts of the police force in successfully dismantling the case and expressed hope that they would continue to strengthen their fight against crime to ensure public safety and stability.
