VietNamNet Bridge – The 2013 Danang International Marathon Competition will be held in central Danang City on September 1.

The competition comprises a full marathon (26.2 miles/42.195 km), a half marathon (13.1 miles/21.0975 km), and a 5 km fun run for all to enjoy.

The course will be certified by the IAAF-AIMS (International Association of Athletics-Association of International Marathon and Distance Races) to international standards, making its timing records official.

Interested participants must register online at the website www.rundanang.com.

Between 2,000–3,000 athletes are expected to participate in the competition that will cost the organizing board VND8–10 billion to run the event.

A range of auxiliary events will run alongside the official competition, including tours for athletes and visitors, gala dinners, local tourism promotion, and charity activities.

Organisers are also calling on athletes and their families to support the Danang Cancer Hospital’s fundraising campaign.
