Tri Nam Group has been approved to launch the urban public bike rental service in Danang City, with two different rates — one for Danang residents and the other for out-of-city residents and tourists.
The rental price will be VND5,000 per 30 minutes and VND50,000 per day for Danang residents and double the rate for tourists.
The bikes, which have inseparable smart locks supported by GPS devices, are locked and unlocked using the TNGO app on smartphones to scan the QR Code on the locks.
The bike users need to download the TNGO mobile application and set up their accounts using their mobile numbers, while the rental can be paid via Momo, Zalo, Viettel and VTCPay.
Users can temporarily lock and unlock the bikes with the app. Upon completion of the trip, they can return the bikes to any rental spot in the city.
Using the central software, the management team will supervise the movement of bikes and receive warnings in case of violations such as using bikes beyond the time limit, failure to return bikes to rental spots, unlocking the bikes after use or bike theft.
After the one-year trial run, the Danang Department of Transportation shall report to the municipal People’s Committee to consider the expansion of the model, contributing to reducing the private means of transportation and environmental pollution to achieve sustainability in traffic management.
Previously, the Tri Nam Group was approved to launch public bike rental services in Vung Tau and HCMC with 12 rental spots and 100 bikes in Vung Tau, and 43 rental spots and 500 bikes in District 1 in HCMC. These rental spots are arranged close to bus stations and parks to create favorable conditions for bike users.
