VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese-American tennis player Daniel Nguyen triumphed in the men’s singles and doubles at the Viet Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) Masters 500, the Hai Dang Cup, which concluded in the southern province of Tay Ninh Province on Sunday.

Nguyen from host club Tay Ninh, 521 in the ATP rankings, beat No 2 seed Trinh Linh Giang 6-0, 6-3 in the men’s singles final.
Earlier, Nguyen who was previously ranked in the world’s top 200, beat Vietnamese No 1 Ly Hoang Nam in the semi-finals.
In the doubles category, Nguyen and Giang beat Pham Minh Tuan and Le Quoc Khanh of Hung Thinh – HCM City 6-2, 6-4 to take the title.

In the women’s singles final, Tran Thuy Thanh Truc of Hung Thinh – HCM City took the title after beating Phan Thi Thanh Binh of Da Nang 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Truc and Phan Nhu Quynh also helped Hung Thinh – HCM City win their second title after triumphing in the women’s doubles.
The first tournament of the VTF series featured 65 athletes from eight teams competing in the men’s and women’s singles and doubles.
