Published in France for the first time in 1932, The Edge of the Sword is a classic French essay on patriotism and military leadership. Charles de Gaulle's thoughts on the nature of leadership have been condensed into the 80-page book. De Gaulle meditates on such topics as military-civilian relations, great men in history and past wars, as well as the prestige and the qualities of a great leader.
and edited by Pham Anh Tuan, is appreciated in Viet Nam for its topicality, even though more than 70 years have passed since its first edition. The book is available in major national libraries in Viet Nam.
