Another victim died in hospital on Tuesday morning after being attacked by a knife-wielding man on a bus in central China's Henan Province Monday, bringing the death toll to three.

The government of Anyang City confirmed that the three victims were all children, the youngest of whom was a 10 month-old baby girl. The other two were boys aged 10 and 18, respectively.

They were among 15 people injured by a mob who used a knife to assault passengers on the bus en route to Beiguo Township, Anyang County on Monday afternoon.

The attacker is still on the run.

The incident happened at about 3:05 pm Monday, when there were 33 passengers on the bus.

Two of the victims died on the way to hospital.

Sources with the Anyang City People's Hospital and the Anyang County No.2 People's Hospital said among those who remained treated, the oldest was 67 and the youngest 18.

More than 400 policemen were sent to hunt for the suspect on Monday. According to witnesses, the attacker was a man of 1.65 meters tall, with crew cut hair and aged around 27.

He escaped into a road-side corn field after he forced the driver to stop the bus.

Anyang police have offered a 100,000-yuan (16,000 U.S. dollars) award for tipster leading to the seizure of the suspect.
