This is the opinion of the Politburo member, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan at the seminar to contribute comments to the draft political documents of the 12th Party Congress with the theme "Promoting Vietnam’s cultural values and nurturing patriotism, national pride, the dedication aspirations of the young generation, who are the pioneers in building the country".

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, said that we see clearly the role of spiritual foundation, the goal and the motivation of culture for the integral and sustainable development of the country.

Economic growth will become deviatory, less meaningful, and even contain high risks if it spoils culture, corrupt people. Therefore, cultural awareness should be further studied in a deeper, more realistic way in the present context.

Along with that, the values of traditional culture should be further promoted, but it must be put in the context of the today age and Vietnam traditional values must be raised at higher level.

Speaking at the seminar, scientists and researchers believed that more than ever, in the current context of integration, we need to build cultural values of the people of Vietnam. The desire to take the country to the same par with the peoples around the world must be a permanent desire of the Vietnamese people, especially the young generation.

To achieve this, besides the values that have been confirmed, we must respect and uphold democracy, accept dialogue and together discuss to reach consensus for national interests; respect the law, really consider law as the measure to assess and review all activities, not being dominated by any power.

At the seminar, many experts and researchers emphasized the need of creating the leadership culture in the governments of all levels, from the central to local because a leader with long-term vision and extensive knowledge will brings about tremendous efficiency for the country. Those who seize the new, the trend of the times and understand the ability of their subordinates will be a great asset for the country.

Therefore, the governments at all levels should be responsible to detect, respect talent and have strategies for developing the talent. The value of the current leaders that should be highlighted by the society today is always updating the new developments, seizing the opportunity, daring to make decision and taking responsibility.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan said the seminar was the discussion between those who have more experience and the youth. In the most difficult moment, we rely on the cultural background, the power of the youth to overcome challenges. Times may change, but the value of culture of our ancestors is eternal.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan affirmed that the challenge for the country's development in the coming years is very strong, so we play the high hope on the young generation, who have aspirations, intellectual, and techniques.

However, young people must remedy the serious shortage of Vietnamese people - the attitude of respecting the law. The youth must take the lead in law enforcement and discipline execution. We have to uphold honesty, declare war against shame in relationships and in reports because corruption, negative phenomena, and false achievement come from that place.
