VietNamNet Bridge - American singer Demi Lovato will join a music event called YAN Beatfest in HCM City this May.

The show, held by YAN Group, will take place on May 9 at the Phu Tho Stadium, No. 1 Lu Gia Street, District 11.

The event will have the participation of 80 Vietnamese singers. Besides music, YAN Beatfest will also offer various entertainment and shopping activities.

YAN Beatfest was launched last year and lured up to 50,000 viewers.

Demi Lovato, 23, is an American actress, singer, and songwriter who made her debut as a child actress in “Barney & Friends” – an American television series aimed at children aged one to eight.

In 2008, Lovato was catapulted to fame in the Disney Channel television film “Camp Rock” and signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records.

Her second album, “Here We Go Again,” was released in 2009 and premiered at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Its title track became her first single to break the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 15.

Lovato was also a judge and mentor on the American version of the “The X Factor” reality show in 2012 and 2013.

The singer has won a number of accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award.
