Reports of the National Traffic Safety Committee showed that several accidents occurred in the past weeks, causing great losses in both human lives and property. The involved drivers were not tested for drug use.

After hearing about the accidents, Deputy PM Binh sent condolences and support to the families of dead and injured victims.

Deputy PM Binh asked the chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee to offer guidance to relevant organisations on providing care for injured victims.

The Deputy PM said that, in the case of a serious accident, police must quickly conduct an investigation to determine the cause and strictly punish violators according to existing laws. They must check all involved drivers for elevated concentrations of drugs or alcohol.

The Ha Noi authorities should conduct safety checks on infrastructure and work with the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to inspect the safety practices of enterprises that own vehicles involved in accidents.

Deputy PM Binh also asked Ha Noi inspectors and police to improve their supervision of main roads into and out of the city including highways 5 and 32 and Thang Long Boulevard.
