Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai left the country on July 28 for an official visit to the three African countries of Mozambique, South Africa and Angola, concluding on August 8.

At the invitation of leaders of the People's Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of South Africa, and the Republic of Angola, Deputy PM Hai will lead a high level government delegation to visit Mozambique from July 29-31, South Africa from August 1-4, and Angola from August 5-8.

The Vietnamese delegation includes leaders and representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Construction, Agriculture and Rural Development, Education and Training, and Science and Technology, as well as those from Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, leaders of several Vietnamese localities and representatives from major domestic enterprises.

The visit affirms Vietnam’s willingness to develop traditional friendship relations and multifaceted co-operation between Vietnam and the three countries as well as with Africa in general.

Under the framework of the visit, the Vietnamese deputy PM will hold meetings and discussions with leaders of Mozambique, South Africa and Angola on practical measures to promote co-operation between Vietnam and the three countries in the fields of trade, industry, telecommunications, petroleum, construction, defence, labour, healthcare, education, and tourism, as well as promoting co-operation among localities. At the same time, they will also discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Hai will also attend a number of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mozambique, as well as between Vietnam and Angola. He will also witness the signing of a number of documents between related authorities to create a legal framework for bilateral co-operation in the future.
