The "Thang Long Green Galaxy," design by Nikken Sekkei Ltd and Vietnam Construction Design JSC (CDC), won the first prize.

The Ministry of Construction has announced the results of the competition on master planning and architecture ideas for the headquarters of ministries and state agencies in Tay Ho Tay (western part of West Lake) area. Five prizes have been given, including the first, the second, the third and two consolation prizes.

The "Thang Long Green Galaxy," design by Nikken Sekkei Ltd and Vietnam Construction Design JSC (CDC), won the first prize. This is a consortium that has implemented many big projects in Vietnam such as the National Museum of History, the Military Television Tower, the Military History Museum. CDC alone has implemented key projects such as the National Assembly House, National Convention Center, Government Office, and the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The designer of "Thang Long Green Galaxy” said that this idea represents the desire to build a headquarters of ministries and state agencies in a green and sustainable direction and connected to the community.

All areas of the new administrative area are connected, allowing workers, tourists and local residents to easily move to the administrative area by public transport such as subway, bus, and car.

The project to build headquarters for 12 ministries and state agencies is located along the Ring Road 2 connecting the central area directly to the Noi Bai international airport, with an area of about 35 hectares, adjacent to West Lake to the east and the Red River to the North.

According to the plan, 12 ministries and agencies will move their headquarters to the new administrative center in Tay Ho Tay areas. They are the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Justice, Construction, Transport, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Culture - Sports and Tourism, Information and Communication, Education and Training, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

The total number of civil servants and public employees working at the new administrative center in Tay Ho Tay is estimated at about 14,000 people, with 1,000-1,500 people/agency on average. Buildings in the new national administrative center have an average height of 15-20 floors and 3-4 underground floors for parking.
