Since mid-2016, some travel firms in HCMC have launched a bee honey collecting program in the U Minh Ha Forest as part of a tour to the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau, which is the southernmost area of Vietnam.
A large number of tourists show keen interest in the new program which gives them an exceptional experience, a close connection with nature and an opportunity to take a closer look at daily lives of local people there.
In addition, visitors to the U Minh Ha Forest have chances to catch fish, harvest bee honey and stay overnight at a community-based ecotourism destination called Muoi Ngot at Hamlet No.4, Khanh Binh Tay Bac Ward, Tran Van Thoi District in Ca Mau Province.
Khanh (standing) is one of four children of Pham Van Ngot, the owner of the community-based eco-tourism destination named Muoi Ngot. The 33-year-old man is taking tourists to the forest to harvest honey.
