According to the decision, the country will build epidemic-free zones for livestock and poultry that meet Vietnamese standards in the southern provinces of Binh Phuoc (six zones), Tay Ninh (1), and 12 zones in Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City by 2025. Particularly, four zones of Binh Phuoc province and one in Tay Ninh province will meet standards of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
By 2030, the remaining districts of the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the Southeast region and the Central Highlands will meet Vietnamese standards on epidemic safety while eight other areas of Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh will satisfy WOAH standards.
The decision also states that Vietnam will strive to export processed chicken to the markets of Japan, Hong Kong (China), the five countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, South Korea, Singapore, the UK, the EU, and China.
In addition, Vietnam will export eggs to Hong Kong (China), Singapore, Japan, Taiwan (China), Australia, USA, and Korea; pork to Malaysia and China; milk and dairy products to Malaysia and Indonesia; and honey and bee products to Japan, Thailand and other markets.
According to the General Department of Customs, in the first five months of 2023, Vietnam exported nearly 8,700 tons of meat and meat products, earning 40.64 million USD, up 39.5% in volume and 63.5% in value over the same period in 2022. Its major markets are Hong Kong (China), Belgium, China, France, the US, and he Netherlands.
