On the morning of November 10, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the National Assembly proceeded with personnel matters within its authority.

Delegates voted to pass a resolution electing Do Van Chien - member of the Politburo and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation of the National Assembly - as Vice Chairman for the 15th legislature.

As such, the current leadership of the National Assembly includes Chairman Tran Thanh Man and seven Vice Chairpersons: Do Van Chien, Tran Quang Phuong, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Duc Hai, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vu Hong Thanh, and Le Minh Hoan.

Previously, the Politburo had decided to relieve Do Van Chien - Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee - of his positions in the Central Committee, the Party’s Executive Board, and his role as Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other central mass organizations.

Simultaneously, the Politburo assigned and appointed him to the Executive Board, the Standing Committee, and the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation of the National Assembly.

Do Van Chien was born in 1962 in Tuyen Quang Province. He is of the San Diu ethnic minority and holds a degree in agricultural engineering.

He is a member of the 13th Politburo, and a member of the Party Central Committee for terms 10 (alternate), 11, 12, and 13. He served as a member of the National Assembly for the 13th and 14th terms.

Do Van Chien has spent many years working in Tuyen Quang Province.

In August 2011, he was transferred to serve as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee.

In February 2015, he was appointed Deputy Minister - Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, and in April 2016, became Minister - Chairman of the Committee.

In January 2021, he was elected by the 13th Party Central Committee to the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee.

At the end of March 2021, the Politburo appointed him as Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2019-2024 term.

In early April 2021, he was nominated to the Central Committee, the Presidium, and elected Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee for the 2019-2024 term. He remained in this position until his appointment to the National Assembly on November 4, 2025.

In May 2024, the 13th Party Central Committee elected him as a supplementary member of the Politburo.
