VietNamNet Bridge – HCM City’s FC Dong Dong will represent Vietnam at the international Tiger Street Football in Malaysia on September 17-18, after beating Quang Nam 19-5 FC 6-3 in the final game on August 21.


The national finale of the Tiger Champions 2011 finished in the central city of Danang on August 21. Twenty-four teams from the central region and eight from the southern region brought the frenetic atmosphere of street football to Da Nang.

After receiving the championship, FC Dong Dong and the three top teams in the finale – Dat Vinh Tien, Vietcombank, Da Nang continued competing in the international football festival, with four foreign teams - Authentics (France), German Street Eagles (Germany), SG Street Lions (Singapore) and Yang Titans (Malaysia). The eight teams were divided into two groups to play in round-robin to choose four teams for the semi-finals.

FC Dong Dong entered the final game but it was defeated by Dat Vinh from HCM City.


The international Tiger Street Football 2011 is designed with nine legs, with each taking turn to take place in Singapore, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and England. Winner of the Grand Finals will be crowned “King of the Streets”.

The tournament, which is open to anyone over the age of 18, aims to be a playground for street players to show off their raw skills and immense talent.

The Vietnam leg saw eight best five-a-side teams competing in the finals in Da Nang from August 20-21. The first leg of the event was held in Singapore on April 16 – 17. Thailand held the second legs on May 21 – 22 and China the third leg on July 23 – 24.
Other legs will follow from now till the organization of the Grand Finals.
