VietNamNet Bridge – A drug addict in the southern province of Dong Nai became a mass killer after taking heroin on June 19.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 19 in Binh Phi hamlet, Nhon Trach district. Locals heard someone shouting from the houses of Ms. Ho Thi Pham, 73 and Tran Thi Xinh, 57. When they came, they saw Pham and Xinh were lying in blood in front of their homes.

In the houses, four people were also lying in pools of blood. Victims include: Nguyen Phuong Vy and Nguyen Vy Phuong, 7 months old, the twins, Pham Duy Truong, 7, and Pham Thi Gai, 37 (Xinh’s daughter).

At that time, Pham Van Manh, 24, Xinh’s son, held a knife and ran out of Xinh’s house. He was surrounded and seized by locals.

Victims were brought to a local hospital but the twins were dead. Truong was seriously injured and transported to HCM City’s Cho Ray hospital. The three remaining victims are being treated at the Dong Nai polyclinic. All of them are in critical state.

According to Ms. Xinh, his son – Manh – has been addicted to narcotic for a long time. At 1pm of June 19, Manh was under the influence of drugs when Ms. Xinh called him. Xinh tried to wake him up but he could not. She poured cold water onto his face. Manh jumped up, grasped a stone cutting knife to stab his mother and his sister.

After that, he took a hoe in the yard to beat onto the heads of four others in the neighboring house, including three children.

Dong Nai police are investigating this serious case.
