VietNamNet Bridge – In the afternoon of September 22, a horrific shooting that killed one police officer on the spot and made two others seriously injured occurred at the headquarters of Suoi Tre traffic control station in Long Khanh town, Dong Nai province.

According to many witnesses, who are traffic policemen at Suoi Tre station--in the afternoon of September 22, Major Tran Ngoc Son (deputy chief of Suoi Tre station) was sitting in the office, Captain Ngo Van Vinh suddenly entered the station then pulled a pistol, pointed straight at Major Son and pressed the trigger several times.

A few seconds later, Major Son fell down to the floor, blood flowing from everywhere. After a few minutes, Captain Vinh discovered Lieutenant Phu, rushed into to dissuade him and assisted Maj. Son. In the intoxication of blood, Captain Vinh pointed the pistol at Lieutenant Phu and pulled the trigger. Taking a bullet, Lieutenant Phu staggered and collapsed to the ground.

After that, many of Vinh’s teammates rushed to intervene. Seeing the gun in Vinh’s hand, they tried to take the gun. After a struggle, Vinh was controlled and was injured.

They immediately took the three policemen to the Long Khanh Hospital. With several major wounds to the head and chest, Major Son died on the way to the emergency room.

Lieutenants Phu got two bullets in his buttocks and groin. Doctors conducted an urgent surgery to get the bullets out. The man was then transferred to a bigger hospital since he was in critical condition. The shooter was also seriously injured and also needed a surgery.

After three days, the two policemen were no longer in danger.

According to Nguoi Dua Tin news site, Captain Vinh and Major Son had a conflict before the shooting.

At noon of the same day, Vinh and some colleagues drank at a karaoke parlous in Long Khanh town. Through a receptionist, Vinh knew that Maj. Son was drinkin in the next room with a man named T, who worked for an auto garage in the Amata Industrial Zone in Bien Hoa City. Vinh entered the room to clink glasses together with Son and T. during this time, Vinh and T quarreled. T hit a beer glass on the head of Vinh.

After the clash with T, Captain Vinh returned to the Suoi Tre station to sleep. At about 5.10pm, Major Son returned to the station. He went to Vinh’s room to pull Vinh out of the room and badly cursed him. Then Maj. Son held Capt. Vinh’s head and bang it to the wall at the witness of many officers and soldiers of the station.

Vinh was very angry so he ran into his room to take a pistol and went to Son’s room to shoot him.
