Dong Tam FC gets only seven points from two wins, one draw and five lost at the V-League 2013. With the poor performance, the team currently ranks 11th out of 12 teams.

The FC decided to fire the foreign coach. This result was predicted because Vital did not show his ability in the harsh environment of the V-League. He was always impatient and was banned from two games after prostrating the referees in the games against Binh Duong FC in round 6.

Dong Tam Chairman Vo Thanh Nhiem said: "Due to advanced age, health problems, Mr. Vital could not bear the pressure after a series of losing games and he has resigned. We will soon find a new coach to replace Vital. Initially, assistant Quang Sang will manage the team."

This is the 3rd time Vital was fired by V-League teams. Previously, he was dismissed by East Asia Bank and Binh Duong FCs.

He will be replaced by Argentine coach Marcelo Juleta. Marcelo is not a stranger to Dong Tam FC. He led the team for three months in 2010. The coach helped the team win the BTV Cup championship 2010 and the second place at the HCM City Friendly Tournament but because conflicts with the team’s leaders, he was fired before the 2011 season.

The Argentine coach will be in Long An on May 16.
