Some banks have recovered trillions of Vietnamese dong in bad debt by selling off assets secured with non-performing loans in the first half of 2019.

The HCMC People’s Court upheld a 17-year jail sentence for Phan Van Anh Vu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bac Nam 79 Construction Company, during an appeal court on June 7.

The HCM City High-Level People’s Court on Monday (May 27) resumed the appeals trial of defendants involved in wrongdoings at Dong A Bank (DAB), which incurred losses of more than VND3.6 trillion (US$154 million).
