VietNamNet Bridge – The information about the invention of a water-run power generator has stirred up the public. However, Vietnamese scientists are regarding Dr Nguyen Chanh Khe, the inventor, with suspicion.

The power generator that runs by water

A scientific workshop on water-run power generator was opened at 8.30 am of March 9, 2012, at the HCM City High Technology Park, where Dr Nguyen Chanh Khe is the deputy director of a research center. Professor Academic Nguyen Van Hieu and Dr Le Hoai Quoc, Head of the Management Board of the High Technology Park chaired the workshop.

Two most important questions were raised at the workshop: 1) the active agent used for freeing hydrogen is a catalyst or a reducing agent? 2) what is the active agent?

According to Professor Dr of Science Nguyen Dang Hung said that if the agent is a reducing agent, the water-run power generator will not be considered an invention by Dr Nguyen Chanh Khe, because the power generation process was invented in the world a long time ago. Meanwhile, if the agent is a catalyst, the invention of Dr Khe would have the chance to get the Nobel prize.

Meanwhile, a representative of the University for Natural Sciences affirmed that the agent must not be called a catalyst, but a reducing agent or an energy storage chemical.

According to Professor Hung, at the workshop, after hearing the opinions of scientists, Dr Khe then changed the name of the agent poured into the water jug. At the meeting to “announce the invention” (the words used by Dr Khe), Dr Khe called it the catalyst. Meanwhile, at the workshop, Dr Khe called it a reducing agent.

Regarding the essence of the agent, Dr Khe refused to reveal, saying “I myself do not know why such a reaction occurs when pouring the agent into water.” The words by Dr Khe were described by the scientists attending the workshop as “not serious speech.”

“Dr Khe has the right to announce what the agent is. However, I do not sympathize with his words spoken out at a scientific workshop,” Dr Hung said.

After the workshop ended at 11.30 am, Dr Khe invited scientists to witness with their eyes his invention, about which the scientists only read on newspapers.

Dr Khe’s assistant poured water, and then a grey color powder agent into a jug. The water then boiled and the 50W lamp turned on. Scientists discussed about the agent that made the water boiling. A scientist affirmed that the key lies in the grey matter agent, because in this case, the water not only can boil, but also has enough energy to separate hydrogen from water.

Some scientists questioned where the water would go after the process, and Dr Khe said that the volume of water is very small which would be blown out by a fan.

After showing the power generator model with low capacity, Dr Khe showed his first finished product. Dr Khe repeatedly said that the first products would be launched into the market by June 2012, while he declined to reveal the production cost and the partners.

There were some noteworthy things at the workshop.

1) Media was not invited to attend the workshop, which was explained by the organization board that the reporters would distract scientists’ attention with their questions. However, some reporters still could enter the workshop.
2) A reporter attempted to “steal” the reducing agent, but she was prevented.
3) When reporters asked Khe to comment Dr Hung’s opinion about a Nobel prize, Khe said that he has not thought of that. However, Khe said the Nobel prize is worth 1.35 million dollars only, while the product would have a market worth tens of billions of dollars.
