On September 12, the performance order draw for the competition's grand finale was held at the Russian National Center.
In a welcoming message delivered via video, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Intervision is not merely a music competition, but a significant international event. It is a space where creativity and art serve as vital tools of diplomacy, cultural sovereignty, and mutual understanding among nations.
Minister Lavrov extended his best wishes to all contestants, expressing hopes for their inspiration, success, and creative achievements in this competition marked by deep friendship and cultural exchange.
A uniquely Russian draw ceremony
The performance order was determined through a uniquely symbolic method steeped in Russian tradition. At the center of the auditorium stood a traditional samovar (tea urn), surrounded by thermal-sensitive mugs. Each of the 23 contestants - representing 23 different countries - took turns pouring hot tea into a mug of their choice. As the heat activated the mug’s surface, a number appeared, indicating the contestant’s performance slot. Results were displayed in real time on a large screen.
The final performance order includes contestants from: Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, China, Egypt, the United States, Kenya, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Brazil, Tajikistan, Qatar, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Venezuela, Serbia, South Africa, Vietnam, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and India.
The Intervision 2025 finals will take place on September 20 at the Live Arena stadium in Moscow.
