Cao Thanh Lan and Gregor Siedl will set up interactive installations that enable audience to explore the physical form of sound and the link between visual and audio elements. Some of the installations are inspired by the special sonic environment of Hanoi.
Attendance fee is VND150,000 per person. Students and Heritage Space members will pay VND100,000.
Duo Cao Thanh Lan and Gregor Siedl have always centered on the physical experience of sound and the inherent link between visual and audio elements. Hanoi traffic noise, clarinet, air pump, servo motors, modular synthesizer, crackers, plastic plants, gaffer tape, infusion bags and other sounds are their sources for diverse works and performances for venues such as the opera house, bowling alley, theater, university auditorium, and gallery.
They have performed at numerous international festivals and concert venues around the world such as Operadagen Rotterdam 2018, Musiktheatertagen Vienna 2018, Hanoi New Music Festival, Festival Ankunft Neue Musik Berlin, Ftarri Tokyo, Nomart Osaka, and CHELA Buenos Aires.
The artists have also given workshops on contemporary composition and improvisation at Monash University Melbourne, BoxHill Institute Melbourne, National University of Hsinchu Taiwan, Sungshin Women’s University Seoul, and Mahidol University Bangkok among others.
