In the final match held on March 17, the local fighter trounced Thai rival Masakul and came first in the 60 kg event.
Immediately after winning the championship, Nhat expressed his delight on his fan page and thanked his fans for always following and supporting him.
He also posted a message on his Facebook page, “Happy birthday to Nai Khanom Tom, the father of Muay Thai, on March 17.”
This marks his first victory this year, whilst Nhat plans to compete in four more tournaments in the year ahead.
Born in 1989 in Khanh Hoa province, Nhat is a professional Muay Thai fighter who has fought in many prestigious amateur and professional events, both domestic and international.
He is a five-time Muay Thai world champion and four-time SEA Games medalist, along with other wins he's recorded at Asian Muay Thai tournaments.
