VietNamNet Bridge – Chinese tourists will only need identity cards to apply for a boarding card for SuperStar Gemini ship of the cruise line Star Cruises sailing from Sanya (China) to Vietnam.
This new policy is expected to boost the number of tourists on this route.
SuperStar Gemini consisting of 765 cabins has regular journeys from Sanya to Halong Bay and Danang City.
According to Star Cruises in a statement, the policy is applicable for passengers traveling on board SuperStar Gemini on a four-day journey to Halong or Danang and a three-day journey to Halong.
Star Cruises is the first cruise line to pick Sanya as its main port. Last year, the line was allowed by the Chinese and Vietnamese governments to offer the same policy to passengers of SuperStar Aquarius with journeys from Sanya to Halong and Danang.
From last month to March, SuperStar Gemini is being used for these journeys.
According to Saigontourist Travel Service Company, the firm which serves ships of Star Cruises, there will be 58 journeys of SuperStar Gemini bringing Chinese tourists to Vietnam in the period between October 28 and March.
Besides, the main port of SuperStar Virgo, Star Cruises’ biggest ship of the Asian fleet, will be changed from Singapore to Hong Kong from April to October, 2014 to take tourists to Taiwan, Hainan and Halong Bay. The SuperStar Virgo has 13 decks and 935 cabins.
Star Cruises is promoting tours such as the four-day trip from Hong Kong to Taiwan and Sanya to Halong Bay which will depart between April 7 and October 26, 2014.
