Recent tensions in the East Sea after China’s illegal placement of its oil rig in Vietnam’s water were the topic of a seminar recently held by the Asian Commission of the Argentine Council for International Relations.
Finanzen.net – one of Germany’s largest financial e-portals on July 9 reported on an international seminar on Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos which was held in the central city of Danang from June 19-21.
Professor Jerome Cohen from New York University’s School of Law says China should enter negotiations and settle the current territorial dispute peacefully or it will make things difficult for itself.
East Sea tensions were hotly debated at a recent workshop in capital Vienna where scholars shed light on the current situation and suggested solutions to the territorial dispute.
