VietNamNet Bridge – After eating meat of a buffalo which died of venom, 60 people in Ban Ria commune in the northern province of Ha Giang got poisoned.



The case happened on May 21 when a local family had a buffalo which was bitten and killed by a snake. Thinking that it was a big waste if the buffalo was buried, local people slaughtered the buffalo to take the meat.

Around 90 people ate buffalo meat. After that, 60 of them suffered from poisoning, with popular symptoms like having stomachache, diarrhea, headache and vertigo.

Some went to a local health station for examination and they were provided with medicines for home treatment. Some serious cases were brought to a district hospital for treatment. All of them have recovered.
