The programme took place last week on the occasion of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day (April 19). 

20 Ede artisans from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak participated in this year’s ethnic cultural day activities.

They played traditional musical instruments of the Ede ethnic group, participated in the gong festival, and attended several other cultural activities.

These are traditional musical instrument artisans. With only bamboo and other wooden materials, the H’Mong community’s ­­­khèn (trumpet) and Raglai community’s t’rung (string instrument) were crafted.

Over the past decade, Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day has grown to become a festival under which people meet to exchange and strengthen great national unity. This is also an opportunity to honor artisans who have made great efforts in preserving traditional cultural values.

Activities to celebrate Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day this year have painted a picture of true ethnic cultural harmony.

The event took place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town, Hanoi.
