Eight members of the G8 Group, who are also members of the Vietnam Fine Art Association and the HCMC Fine Art Association will have a joint exhibition from February 24 to March 2 at the Museum of Fine Arts of Vietnam in Hanoi.
Two nude women paintings by artists Tran Quang Hai and Thai Vinh Thanh
The group will showcase over 50 artworks in different materials like acrylics, oil-on-canvas, and lacquer and fabric.
This is the first joint exhibition of the G8 Group, so named due to the group’s membership. The eight members from Hanoi and HCMC are Tran Quang Hai, Bui Mai Hien, Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Tran Thanh Thuc, Lam Thanh, Tran Thuy Linh, Thai Vinh Thanh and Do Dinh Cuong.
The artists come from different backgrounds and have different art styles. However, they share the same art genre and the love for humanity and nature. Four female artists in the group are friends and colleagues who have joined numerous exhibitions nationwide and overseas.
The audience can find the beauty of the northern mountainous region, forests, flowers and people’s inner soul and living spaces via the impressive style by Tran Thanh Thuc and Bui Mai Hien, abstract and semi-abstract style by Nguyen Thi Lan Huong and semi-surrealist pieces by Tran Thuy Linh. Their works reflect the love for nature, aspiration and dreams.
Four male artists show their unique characteristics via the painting subject of women. Lam Thanh reflects soft strokes via images of nude women and white lotuses while Tran Quang Hai expresses a provocative beauty of women in a fictional space. Paintings with general materials by Do Dinh Cuong and acrylic pieces by Thai Vinh Thanh show unique features of Vietnamese girls who are both traditional and modern.
The opening ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on February 24 at the Vietnam Fine Art Museum at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi.
