This is an annual event held by the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) to honor sci-tech innovations of Vietnamese scientists.
The Organizing Board received 133 works in six fields and selected 45 works to grant prizes, including five first prizes, 11 second prizes, 13 third prizes and 16 consolation prizes.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also presented WIPO Awards for one excellent work in the field of materials: "Applying ultra-fine grinding technology in the production of high-quality Cotto tiles".
In its 26-year history, the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award has received nearly 3,000 entries, with more than 900 winning works.

Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said many prize-winning projects have been applied in practice, affirming the talent, intelligence and creativity of Vietnamese people.
The annual VIFOTEC awards, first launched in 1995 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, VIFOTEC, and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, aims to encourage scientists and businesses to come up with inventions that meet urgent demands in the market and boost the competitiveness of Made-in-Vietnam products.
