Standpoint Theories - Vietnam Edition, a project which features local singer Le Cat Trong Ly and is presented through an illustrated graphic novel accompanied by live music and interactive dance, will take place in HCMC, Hanoi, Hue, Danang and some other parts of the country.

The project is scheduled for January 9, 8:30 p.m. at Cargo Bar in HCMC’s District 4.

Standpoint Theories - Vietnam Edition comprises six Vietnamese legendary myths by means of interactive dance, subtitles in Vietnamese, live visual art/3D mapping and live electronic music fused with traditional Vietnamese music.

These myths include Con Rong Chau Tien, Son Tinh – Ong than nui Tan Vien, Phu Dong Thien Vuong, Chu Dong Tu, Cong Chua Lieu Hanh (Ba Chua Lieu) and Ba Chua Xu.

Standpoint Theories was formed by Emily Navarra in 2013. This is the second year of the project titled Standpoint Theories - Vietnam Edition where she can work with creative groups to make a production about Vietnam.

Emily’s motto through this choreographic adventure is to make art for those asking for it and to reach the general public and revisit the country’s rich cultural history.

Emily Navarra, a B.A. Dance Studies graduate from the University of South Florida, uses traditional culture and modernization as a choreographic tool to embark on fierce kinetic adventures.  Her work as a freelance artist has been presented in the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa and the UK.
