Update news emission standards
Cars in Vietnam since 2021 are subject to new regulations such as registration fee, import tariff, and higher emission standards.
The government has decided to lift the standards for automobile emission standards, but motorcycles, which produce 80 percent of total emissions from motor vehicles, are still not under control.
VietNamNet Bridge - By mid-2018, Vietnam had more than 184,120 vehicles over 20 years old, of which 2,613 passenger vehicles with over nine seats had expired.
About 120,000 cars reached their useful lifespan at the end of 2014. From 2015, it is expected that 15,000 cars will be eliminated each year as they cannot meet the requirements to stay in circulation.
