The aid package is scheduled to be disbursed before December 31, according to a resolution adopted by the National Assembly Standing Committee on September 24.
The resolution will also allow employers to reduce the contribution rate from 1% to 0% from their monthly salary fund to the Unemployment Insurance Fund for a period of 12 months, starting from October 1 and last until September 30, 2022.
Later the same day, the Government also issued a resolution detailing the full disbursement of the aid package.
The prolonged COVID-19 outbreak which initially started in late April has dealt a heavy blow to all aspects of life, serving to disrupt production and the business chains of enterprises. Many firms have therefore suspended operations or moved to lay off parts of their workforce in an attempt to survive the damaging impact brought about by the pandemic.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue says that although both the National Assembly and the Government have issued many specific and wide-ranging support policies, employers and employees should be provided with additional practical assistance to help them to surmount difficulties.
