VietNamNet Bridge – Unlike other glassy and classy coffee shops with fancy gardens and luxurious ornaments, this café is limited to the size of an apartment, which makes it interestingly different. Yet its small size will not discomfort you in any way as the interiors are wisely arranged and the space is decorated in vintage style with little lovely things that gives you a cozy and warm feeling just like you are visiting a friend’s house.

In fact, the most special thing about Nep Café that makes it stand out from others is beautiful acoustic music performed every night by the shop’s owner Le Cat Tien, whose sister is famous Danang singer Le Cat Trong Ly, and her friends. Acoustic café is not new in HCMC, but authentic acoustic music that uses only the singer’s voice and guitar, without any sound equipment, even microphone like Nep’s music, is considered very rare in HCMC.

Nep Café follows a nostalgic style that is not only presented in the vintage decoration but in the choice of music as well. Most of the songs performed here are golden English and Vietnamese songs that have been famous for a long time. Yet you can also require any song that you like, either an old or a recent one, and the singer will be happy to sing it for you.

Cat Tien, the shop’s owner and lead singer, also has a talent for telling stories to connect the audience with the emotion of the songs and create an intimate feeling for everyone like a bunch of friends that gather around to listen to music and spend a good time together.

The show usually starts at 8:15 p.m. with all lights go out, except for some candle lights. Your cellphone will be required to be in the silent mode just like in the theater, but to indulge yourself in live acoustic music from a very close distance to the singer in a room filled with romantic candle lights while enjoying your drink is a really wonderful experience worth trying.
