The decision was made following five consecutive losses, leaving the team with just four points after seven games. The nail in the coffin was a 3-0 defeat to Ulsan Huyndai.
Speaking at a press conference after being sacked, Andersen said he would like to thank his players, who stuck together despite the lack of bad results over the past few months. “Although I am not with the team anymore, I hope they will improve over the course of the season.”
The Norweigian was appointed coach in June 2018. Despite boating strong players such as Moon Chang-jin, Kim Seung-yong, Lee Jae-sung and Phuong, he was unable to find a winning formula.
