V-League champions Hanoi FC are scheduled to face Altyn Asyr FK FC of Turkmenistan in the AFC Cup inter-zone semi-finals with the fixture taking place across two legs on August 20 and August 27.
With 12 of their squad being senior Turkmen internationals, Altyn Asyr FK FC are considered a mini-version of Turkmenistan’s full national team.
The team are led by head coach Hojagejdiyev who has won the Yorkary Liga, Turkmenistan’s top division, on five occasions. The team have won the Turkmenistan Super Cup each year since 2015.
In last year’s version of the AFC Cup 2018, Altyn Asyr FK finished as the runners-up. In their domestic league, the club are currently first with 29 points from 14 matches played.
The first leg between Hanoi FC and Altyn Asyr FK FC will be held at the Hang Day stadium on August 20. Seven days later the second leg will take place in Turkmenistan. VOV
