Born in 1964 in Yen Thang Commune, Y Yen District, Nam Dinh Province (formerly), Mr. Nang graduated with a degree in Internal Combustion Engines from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in May 1986 and earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 1992. He was recognized as an associate professor in 2022.
Currently, he is both a lecturer and Chairman of the Council at Phenikaa University. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board and Director of the Phenikaa Institute for Research and Technology. According to his profile, he has 18 years and 3 months of experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Scientific contributions and innovation

Mr. Nang has supervised three PhD candidates who successfully defended their dissertations and is currently advising five more, along with numerous master’s students. He has led one national-level project, one ministerial-level project, two state-level sub-projects, three institutional-level projects, and one institutional key project. He is currently heading another national-level research initiative.
As of June 30, 2025, he had published 109 scientific works, including 55 articles in reputable international journals and 14 papers presented at conferences indexed in Scopus. Since being appointed associate professor, he has served as the lead author of 22 international papers.
In addition, he has been granted 14 patents and 5 utility solutions, with 12 of them credited to him as the main author. Many of his inventions have been transferred and commercialized - two of them are currently used in large-scale industrial production, while four have been developed into practical products.
He has also published 8 specialized books with reputable publishers. His research is highly regarded for its real-world applicability and strong link to innovation and industrialization.

In education, Mr. Nang emphasizes aligning closely with the Ministry of Education and Training’s curricular objectives, aiming to foster students’ creativity and independent thinking.

From research to business leadership
Beyond academia, Ho Xuan Nang is a well-known entrepreneur in the high-end construction materials sector. He has held senior executive roles including Chairman and CEO of A&A Green Phoenix Group, Director of Vinaconex Advanced Stone Corporation, and CEO of Vicostone - Vietnam’s leading manufacturer of engineered quartz surfaces.
Since June 2014, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Vicostone, a member company of the Phenikaa Group. By the end of 2024, Nang ranked 11th among Vietnam’s richest individuals on the stock exchange, with assets estimated at 8.93 trillion VND (approximately USD 350 million), according to data from securities exchanges.
Alongside his business and research activities, he is credited with helping develop Phenikaa University into a model of innovation, focused on research and technology transfer.
Over the course of his career, Ho Xuan Nang has received many prestigious honors, including the First-, Second-, and Third-Class Labor Orders from the President of Vietnam, a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, the title of National Emulation Fighter, and various awards in science and technology innovation.
