Despite the hardship of living in the remote reaches of Lai Chau province in Vietnam’s northwestern mountains, teachers always attempt to create a family-like atmosphere for students so they can be fully focused on their studies.
Of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, several consist of a few hundred people living in remote mountain areas. The O Du in Nghe An province is one of the groups with the smallest populations.
During the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, each ethnic group in Vietnam has its own culinary specialties that reflect the culture of their people and are used as offerings to worship their ancestors.
The Dan Lai people live in the Pu Mat National Park, in Con Cuong District, Nghe An Province. This is one of the tribes with the smallest population in Vietnam – over 3,000 people.
