The Europe meets Asia in Contemporary Dance Festival will be organized in Hanoi and HCMC between September 20 and October 14, the Government news website reports.

The festival has since 2011 attracted a lot of attention and applause from the media and the public, and contributed to promoting the art of contemporary dance in Vietnam and boosting cultural exchanges between local and international artists.

The festival is an initiative of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), held in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNBO), and the Goethe Institute.

The audience will have the opportunity to experience a broad and varied spectrum of contemporary dances from different countries including France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Canada and host Vietnam.

In Hanoi, the festival will take place at Youth Theatre Hanoi, Hoan Kiem pedestrian-only zone, L’Espace French Cultural Center and Vincom Contemporary Arts Centre from September 20 to 24. In HCMC the event will be held at the City Opera House, HCMC Dance College, The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre and Nguyen Hue pedestrian square from September 21 to October 14, according to information on the festival’s website at www.hanoidancefestival.com.

Apart from dance performances, this festival is expected to feature three exhibitions themed “Dance and Body.”
