VietNamNet Bridge - Cultural and music shows from European countries like Germany, France and Russia will grace stages in Vietnam this month.
As part of “German Year in Vietnam” and “Vietnamese Year in Germany” programs, the German famous jazz band Tharichens Tentett will perform at the Hanoi Opera House (1 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District) on November 26, a kick-off for the European Music Festival.
Seven young musicians from Germany’s Trossingen State University of Music will perform pieces by Mozart, Poulenc, and Schubert at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music (112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1) on Saturday.
The highlights of the show will be Mozart’s “Serenade in C Minor from KV 384a and KV 516b for wind quintet,” Schubert’s “The Shepherd on the Rock for voice, clarinet and piano D 965 op. post. 129,” and Poulenc’s “Sextet for piano, flute, horn, clarinet and bassoon op. 100.”
On show will be bassoonist Rie Koyama, flutist Joo-Weon Lee, vocalist Carolin Abeln, hornist Diego Barone, clarinetist Elizaveta Shklyaver, pianist Clemens Müller, and oboist Anke Nevermann de Garcia del Valle.
The Russian Cultural Days will take place in three cities, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang from November 14-22.
The Russian troupe will put on a variety of performances such as ballet, classical music, and circus shows for the Vietnamese audience. For the Vietnamese movie buffs, there will be a week-long public film screening of five Russian films in all three cities.
The highlight of the program will be a cultural exchange between the visiting Russian artists and Vietnamese students at the Vietnam National Music Institute.
In Hanoi, the French cultural week will take place on November, from 23-27, with Nicolas Cornet’s photo exhibition at L’Espace (24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District).
It displays pictures of the Vietnamese capital as seen through the lens of the Frenchman. Forty-seven year-old Cornet has been working for top European magazines and newspapers since 1997 and has several photo books on Vietnam to his name.
In addition, more than 80 French enterprises, operating in 8 different industries, will take part in an exhibition featuring their products, services and technologies. Other activities include a forum on environmental issues, urban transportation, architecture, and state-private cooperation.
