After a failed escape attempt, she comes under the radar of 18-year-old Eli Weston, his gang and extensive history of trouble. Intrigued by the new girl’s peculiarly fickle nature, Eli is in for an even bigger surprise when Hayley offers to help him find a way out. Free admission EXHIBITION Exhibition “Community • Co-design • Architecture” Nanoco Gallery 4th floor, 83 Lang Street, Dong Da District, The exhibition presents collaborative design (co-design) processes in community-based architecture projects, researched and developed by Norwegian architect Alexander E. Furunes under Norwegian Artistic Research Programme. Exhibition “Sparkling – Collection of Lacquered and Gilded Wood Objects” 1st floor, Vietnam National Museum of History 1 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District The exhibition introduces nearly 100 documents and objects dating back from the Le and Nguyen dynasties from the 17th to the early 20th century – a brilliant time of development in the lacquering and gilding industry – include unique and rare items showed to the public for the first time. The objects selected for display are of various bold designs with unique decorative patterns. Games and Realities Exhibition Goethe Institute 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District Featuring eighteen politically-ambitious computer games from the past twelve years, the touring interactive exhibition ‘Games and Realities’ examines how computer games hold political potential. HO CHI MINH CITY PERFORMANCE Notos Quartett in Concert: “Viennese Melange” Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1, Notos Quartett, the award winning piano quartet from Germany will perform a special concert in Ho Chi Minh City, playing selected music by some of the best loved composers including Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Mahler, and the legendary Austrian violinist Fritz Kreisler. The concert is a reminiscence of Vienna in the late 18th early 19th centuries, when this glorious imperial city was the world capital of classical and romantic music. Tickets: VND300,000 – VND250,000 EXHIBITION Exhibition 'Then I Can Turn the World Upside Down' Salon Saigon 6D Ngo Thoi Nhiem, Ward 7, District 3 ‘Then I Can Turn the World Upside Down’ is an exhibition of works on paper by five Vietnam-based contemporary artists. Each work explores in its own subjective way, Le Hoang Bich Phuong, Mai Hoang, Nguyen Manh Hung, Florian Nguyen and Hoang Nam Viet, the myriad of possibilities inherent in the medium of drawing to create imaginary realities which evoke the subconscious. With their ink and paper, the artists have created visions of hidden beauty and reinterpretations of the world, revealing quasi-hallucinatory perspectives on otherwise too familiar landscapes. Exhibition ‘House of Nguyen II’ by Tran Minh Tam Craig Thomas Gallery 27i Tran Nhat Duat, Tan Dinh Ward, District 1, Come and join ‘House of Nguyen II’, a solo exhibition of oil and lacquer paintings on wood by Saigon-based artist Tran Minh Tam. First time art lovers and collectors became familiar with Tran Minh Tam’s portrayal of royal characters from the past in 2013, when he introduced his House of Nguyen I series. |
