The show aims to popularise Vietnamese traditional lacquer art among both Vietnamese and foreign art lovers.

Most of the works were created by painter and lecturer Pham Chinh Trung and his students in 2012 and 2013.

On this occasion, they also chose to display three works of the late painter Nguyen Kim Dong (1922-2009) including Duoc Mua (Bumper Crop) to pay homage to the teacher who was among the first students of the Indochina Fine Arts College and devoted his whole life to lacquer art.
