Focussing on the theme of the lotus – the flower that is strongly linked to President Ho Chi Minh, the exhibition is among activities marking the President’s 126th birthday (1890-2016).

Seen in the delicate brush-strokes of painters Pham Thi Thanh Mai, Dang Dinh Ngo, Bui Trong Du and Vu Tuyen, the lacquer and oil paintings on display depict the pure and refined charm of lotus flowers.

According to painter Vu Tuyen, who has a deep interest in the theme of the lotus flower, through his works he wishes to honour the pure life and harmonious relations among people.

The exhibition is co-organised by the Hanoi UNESCO Centre for Fine Arts and the Management Board for Hanoi's Old Quarter.
