Ms. Fagerberg and Mr. Gronvoll have lived together for several years and have two children, but they decided to hold their wedding during their spring vacation in Vietnam.
The wedding took place on the afternoon of March 17 on the beach of Nha Trang city, in central Vietnam.
“We met the first time nine years ago during a skiing trip. We love traveling around the world and tours have helped tighten our relationship. For that reason, we planned to get married during a tour,” Gronvoll said.
“My family loves tropical climate, blue sea and hospitality. We also want to taste delicious food and see friendly people with warm smiles and we always dreamt of a wedding on the sea. All of the wishes can become reality in Nha Trang,” Fagerberg added.
Ms. Gail Hugkes, an Australian woman who married a Vietnamese man and has settled in Vietnam for years, was the master of ceremonies for many wedding of this type.
“Many foreign couples wish to have memorable weddings on the beach of Nha Trang because the romantic and peaceful beauty here,” Hugkes says.
Last August, the wedding of Peop Vich, 40, from Spain and Irina Claudia, 21, from Russia also took place there, with the Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Tormado Curcvo Ruvgomer as the master of ceremonies.
On the late afternoon, 100 guests from Russia and Spain grouped up on Hon Tam Island to attend the wedding. Ambassador Ruvgomer started the wedding at the flower gate by telling the love story of the couple.
Ten years ago, Pep Vich came to Vietnam to work in a software design firm. Two years ago, Russian student Claudia chose Vietnam as the destination for her summer vacation. They met each other on Hon Tam Islet of Nha Trang city so they wanted to organize their wedding on the island.
Six months before, this islet also witnessed the wedding between Mikhalev Artem and Polyakov Aleksandra.
“Why don’t we hold our wedding on the beach of Nha Trang, Vietnam?” The groom recalled that he had made an offer of marriage to his wife by that question.

They knew each other when they were students. They decided to get married at the age of 25 and they chose Nha Tranh beach for their great day.
That Russian couple’s wedding took place on the afternoon of a day in late February 2011. “The ocean witnessed our vows,” the bride said. The couple walked on their bared food on sand, surrounded by rose petals.
Nha Trang is a coastal city and capital of Khanh Hoa province, on the south central coast of Vietnam.
Nha Trang is well known for its pristine beaches and excellent scuba diving and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers as well as more affluent travellers on the Southeast Asia circuit. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists.
Nha Trang Bay is widely considered as amongst the world's most beautiful bays. Tourists are welcome to participate in the Sea Festival, held biennially. Nha Trang was the site of the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant and Miss Earth 2010. Besides, Nha Trang was also approved to host 2016 Asian Beach Games.
