VietNamNet Bridge – Ha Noi authorities have decided to stage fireworks displays at 29 locations around the city to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) which falls in the second week of February.

Watching fireworks on New Year's Eve is the interest of many Vietnamese people.

On New Year's Eve, large shows will be held for 15 minutes at five places – Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Lac Long Quan Park, Van Quan Lake and My Dinh National Stadium.

This is one more location than last year. There will also be smaller displays at 24 other areas.

The capital's People's Committee has permitted district authorities to use local budgets to improve fireworks performances.

But it has asked them tighten control on random displays by private individuals and groups.
