Facebook on Wednesday unveiled three new tools that are designed to give users more control over what they share on the world’s largest social networking service.
Among them is a new feature called "groups" which allows users to stay up to date with small groups of their friends and to share things with them in a private space.

Only members will see what’s going on in a group and users can group chat with members who are online at the same time.
Facebook said it is also rolling out a feature which enables users to click a link and easily get a copy of all the information they’ve posted on Facebook and all their correspondences with friends in a single download.
Another new dashboard tool gives users a single view of how third-party applications use their data, and users can even see in detail when their data was last accessed.
"We’ve heard loud and clear that you want more control over what you share on Facebook -- to manage exactly who sees it and to understand exactly where it goes," Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s co- founder and CEO, said in a blog post introducing the new tools.
"We hope these tools bring you more confidence as you share things on Facebook," he noted.
