VietNamNet Bridge – Ha Noi police and market watch department’s inspectors have seized nearly 32,700 dietary supplement products without clear origins.

While investigating the Viet Nam Slim HMN Trading Company Limited in Tam Hiep Commune of Thanh Tri District on Tuesday morning, representatives of the Ha Noi police and market watch departments discovered some 10,000 imported products, popular in the market.

These illegal products include Royal Jelly, Glucosamin USA, Shark cartilage and Plus min USA, as well as HMN Collagen USA, Fish wall collagen Type II and Nickbon glucosamine.

The officials also seized 11,120 products with 1.7 tonnes of packages and labels as well as machines used for packing dietary supplements at the company’s warehouse in Ha Dong District’s Phu La Ward.

Vi Van Hoa, the warehouse’s keeper, failed to present any invoice indicating the origin of the products.

Another package containing 10,750 products without clear origins was found in the company’s branch in Ta Thanh Oai Commune of Thanh Tri District.

Dam Thanh The, head of secretariat of the National Steering Committee on the Prevention and Control of Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Fake Commodities (or Steering Committee 389) said this is a serious case. Although the products had foreign labels, the containers and packaging were processed in the country, he said.

Relevant agencies have seized the goods for further investigation.
